New York State - Niagara to Ithaca On the Erie Canal bicycle touring trail and Tow Path

(Augustr2009)

Follow the sign and stay on the Tow Path.

Most of the Tow Path is made of crushed Limestone.

A fellow cyclist near our campsite at Albion.

Cindie can not ride past these fresh vegetable stands - Especially when they are selling Blueberries

Ok Cindie's mom climbed 3 waterfalls that day and she is 74.

The first waterfall Dion had us climb over.


So true!


Seneca Falls, NY is the home of the women's movement, thank you ladies.

 


Ithaca to Fort Stanwix in Rome, upstate New York

(August 2009)


Following the Erie Canal Rail Trail took us through the small town of Port Bryon in upstate New York.

Back on the Tow Path.

Every three years nkumbi advance boys into adulthood. This spirit is used to scare non initiates away and keep the initiates from regressing. Scary dude for sure.

I would get cabin fever is this little place.

Each regiment or battalions lived in these small dwelling all winter long.
