The Pan-American Highway has a nice shoulder, most of the way through the Guatemalan
highlands.

San (Saint) Simon

The plastic is to protect San Simon from the spray of hard liquor, a common donation to
the saint.

The plaques on the wall are from all over Central America, they give thanks to San Simon
for miracles that have occurred.

San Andreas Itzapa, a town hit hard by the 1976 earthquake. This barefoot man took
forever to cross the street.
